Here in Australia, the laws around escorts and the general sex-worker industry is fairly liberal. In NSW the sex industry has been decriminalized and operating like any other industry since 1995. With that said however, there are still regulations in place, so there are some things to consider.
Street working is legal, so if you felt the impulsive urge to approach one of these workers, you can rest assured that you will not be caught up in the same sort of sting operations that happens in the U.S. This doesn’t mean that anyone can offer their services wherever they want.
In NSW adult services can not be legally solicited near or within the view of residential dwellings, schools, churches and hospitals. As such, it is advisable to neither offer nor request the services of a sex worker anywhere near these locations.

Advertisement and Promotions
Looking for a brothel (that is any building that provides sexual services) can be difficult if you’ve never been there before. Unlike other industries that can freely advertise their services or display their products, businesses that provide adult services can not legally display onsite advertisement that can be seen from the outside.
This is where sites like ours provide both clients and service providers an easy to access classifieds containing a list of local businesses that offer such services.
View the escort’s profile or webpage to find their terms of service. Just like all other professionals, not every escort provides the same services or the same rates. Some may promote services that others do not, such as Greek/Anal Play – in other words, will they allow anal to be performed on either themselves, or on their client.
Contacting The Escorts
Most independent escorts use a business number or email address to communicate with their clients. Others go through an agency and can’t be directly contacted.
In either case, use their listed method of contact and be polite about it, these are professionals after all, and any rude or vulgar communications can result in getting you rejected. Every escort has the right to refuse service to any clientele that is disrespectful towards them, they are under no obligation what so ever to accept your request for service. If you see PNDP in their terms of service, that means Please No Dick Pics, so don’t send them any.
Personal details are taken from you at the time of the booking, and verified at the meetup. This helps is to confirm that you are who you say you are, and to ensure that you are not a blacklisted client – someone who has a history of mistreating their escorts. This isn’t done for any other reason, than for that of their own protection. Be honest and answer their questions, if you were to claim your name is John, and when they arrive and verify your ID only to see that your name is really Dave, expect them to either walk away or lecture you for misleading them.
Making a Booking
If you are a new client that the escort or their agency is unfamiliar with, they may require you meet them at a designated location. This could be the brothel that they regularly work out of, or a hotel that they have a standing with. In either case the location is chosen for their own protection and to help ensure their own safety. They don’t know who you are so please don’t take offense to this if you would prefer them to come to your own place of choosing. For clients that the escorts and agencies have a history with, the escort may be more willing to go to them.
At the time of the booking, the time and location of the meetup will be arranged. If you are going to them for the first time, they may only give you the street name and suburb, and will require that you give them a call when you arrive before they give you the actual building number (or room number).
What Services do They Provide?
As we mentioned earlier, not every escort offers the same services. If you and your partner/friend(s) are looking for an escort that will partake in threesomes or orgies, you will need to confirm that they state so in their terms of service. You must arrange for this at the time of the booking and verify what sort of group activity they are willing to take part in. If less people end up being there that is fine, but under no circumstances should there ever be more then the prearranged number of participants or spectators.
The escort is there to do a job. They are professionals that are there to provide a predefined service, and should never be expected to accept changes to their agreed upon work load. Most people would never expect this for any other professions, so neither should an escort be expected to.
See our article on escort abbreviations, to help you familiarize yourself with the services that they provide. Their terms of service may stipulate which abbreviations they are willing to do with their clients. Knowing this can help you to request things during your meetup. Aside from the number of participants and spectators, most escorts are willing to go with the flow.
Who Should Bring the Condoms?
You should never have intercourse without using a condom. It doesn’t matter if it’s the client or the escort that’s male, a condom should always be used, and provided by the escort themselves.
The escorts must provide the protection for their own sake. There are some clients that will happily use a broken or defective condom, which puts them at risk of contracting STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infection).
The same goes for the clientele, never have sex with an escort without using protection. An escort that will happily service their clients without the use of a condom, is more likely to contract an STI and spread it among the rest of their clientele.
S.W.O.P (Sex Workers Outreach Project) NSW’s advocacy group for sex workers, highly encourages the use of safe sex practices. Whether you are a client or considering to become an escort, if you don’t understand why safe sex is important, please refer to these fact sheets.
Can Escorts Use Sex Toys and Lube?
Short answer: Yes, yes they can.
In truth, if you wish to have the escort use sex toys on yourself, then you can provide your own or have them bring some.
If you wanted to use them on the escort themselves, then it is best that the escort brings their own toys and lube. This ensures that they are already comfortable and familiar with the toys in questions, and would be more likely to provide a better show for you.
Another reason that escorts would be better off bringing their own toys and lube, is that they know they are clean and safe to use. If the escort doesn’t want to use the toy(s) provided by the client they should never be forced to do so. Unfortunately, just like with the condoms, an escort is taking a risk when using anything provided by the client.
So if you do want to watch the escort pleasure themselves with toys, it would be best to have this discussion at the time of the booking. Don’t feel offended if they decline to use your toys or personal lubrication, its more to do with their own personal comfit and health concerns.
